    Default New patrol rifle

    ***update***

I can't leave well enough alone.

Built a 7.5 upper for this patrol rifle.

Just waiting for another NFA stamp now to put it on my "old" lower.

    Noveske Diplomat barrel, 7.5"

    Troy TRX Extreme 7.6" rail

Daniel Defense upper, to match my lower and the 14.5 upper currently in service.

DD fixed front and rear sights.

    X300

EOTech XPS 3-0, cause it works.

    BCM charging handle.

    DD FA BCG

    Noveske KX3 FS

    VLTOR LPGB

Still need some KNS pins, a Magpul RSA and a nice SBR case for this sucker.

    Sold my LMT.

Picked up a Daniel Defense upper and lower. This is my new patrol rifle.

    Specs:

    DD upper
    DD lower
    DDBCG
    DD Buffer, tube/spring
DD 14.5 inch CHF LWP barrel
    Surefire FH556-212A Flash hider/adapter (Surefire can QC/D)
    VLTOR LPGB
    BCM Gunfighter MOD 3
    Magpul ASAP sling adapter
    Magpul MBUS F/R
    Magpul MOE stock
    Magpul MOE grip
    Magpul AFG
    Magpul BAD
    Surefire X-300 at 12 o'clock
Troy/Viking Tactics TRX Extreme lightweight 11 inch rail

This thing is so effin' light, I can't believe it.

I spent 2 hours on a homicide/barricade SWAT callout (responding patrolman) and ended up fielding a 6721 in various ready positions, fully expecting this ******* to pop out of an apartment with a shottie. I was so sore and bruised the next day from the 6721...

I have a new generation eXPS 3.0 on the way with a G23.FTS from EOTech. Should be here in a week or so. I haven't decided whether to run the magnifier on a patrolman's setup yet. Either way, it should be super light, even with an optic. I'm excited. I paid exactly what I sold my LMT/EOTech 5.12 for, so it was worth it.

If you need to buy anything for an AR platform, go to www.rainierarms.com

John and Mike are experts, super nice guys and have great pricing for LEOs.

    Oh, pics...

    Magpul MOE grip: $19

    First, Thank you.

Secondly, what kind of optics are you going with?

    Fine looking weapon.
    I am very jealous.

Said he was going with an EOTech XPS 3.0

... damn fine looking rifle, all I might suggest is that you change the MOE Stock for the full locking CTR, That way you can mark it or train to know when you need to extend or drop it depending on if you're having to use heavier armor or other chest type gear that might affect your LOP. I prefer the ability to lock the stock in place, YMMV

Also out of curiosity, Why the EOTech? They are great, my prefered optic and the XPS resolves 90% of the EOTech short comings vs. the AimPoint T/H-1's. Except for battery life. 2 hours on a barricade isn't fun and isn't going to be the reason to swap your batteries, but the T/H-1's have that STUPID forever frakking battery life and there's something to be said for that. Being able to leave it on all the time and only have to change the battery every couple of years, well I'm still an XPS fan, love mine, especially the smaller form factor!

Still man, kick ass setup, very kiss ass, this will serve you well! I love the way you've go the X300 setup at the 12 o'clock. The MP BUIS, do you have experience with these? I'm not convinced that I'd run them on work gun vs. something like Troy's, but to me it's about long term durability and the MBUIS hasn't had enough work time (plenty of hobbyist time sure) IMHO.

And yes, the guys at Rainier are frakking awesome, they modded my Saber with the PWS piston system, adding the rail and PWS FSC 556 and tuning the fit all around. And they did it with less than a weeks turn-around! High praise for them if you can't get Rob down at Bowers to make time for ya

Still, I'll be the first to ask..

    CAN I HAVE IT?!?!?!

You mentioned an SBR case.... just FYI, a tennis racket bag holds an AK and a couple mags like it was meant for it, and it doesn't scream "hey look I have an SBR in here." Whether this will work with an AR since the stock doesn't fold, I have no idea, but then again I've never seen one that short so...

    Interesting.

If I need to whack someone on the sly, imma try it.

I was thinking about this for work though:

    http://www.laruetactical.com/covert-rifle-case

    Or this:

    http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/386...29-nylon-black

    Or this:

    http://www.amazon.com/US-PeaceKeeper.../dp/B0044YGCFA

If I do the top one, I will config it to hold my SBR and a Serbu Super Shorty (If I ever get my stamps!)
