Fun but true: My ship got rammed by the Iranian gun boat 'Bayandor' on a Gulf cruise in the late 90s. Wanted to get between us and the carrier, but we wouldn't let them. Instead, they got closer and closer to us, then made a hard turn to port. Some of our flight deck netting got ripped off, and it punched a hole in the side of their superstructure. But of course, we couldn't have an 'international incident', so our betters decided to let it go. We got about 30 seconds of coverage on CNN and that was it.

The irony is that we sold the Shah the frigate that the Ayatollah rammed us with. Good times. Anyways, from what I've seen of the Iranian Navy, I'm not too worried. I'd be curious to see if they could even make it across the Atlantic.
