    Default BBQ'R question

Ok I have a nice bbq, seems the coating on the cooking grate surface has came off. I would think maybe its a teflon coating, maybe I'm wrong. My question is does anyone here do any kind of coating that can be used with high heat and cooked on?. Should I just spend the $50 bucks and buy 2 new grates?, thanks.

    New grates Dave.

The problems if you were to try and put a new coating on them are numerous. Anything that could be done at home would not last and do you really want a paint or similar flaking off on your T-bone?
Most places that flame spray, porceleanize (which is what you probably have already) or plate would have a minimum rate of around a C note at least.
