AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGG that would have been perfect, but I want the FDE. Normally I never even check gunbroker as the prices seem to always be high. But I will definitely start checking, thanks spyder!

With the fairly simple exterior, you could have it proffesionally recolored FDE to be either 2 tone black/FDE or the whole thing pretty easily. Granted that will get it back at 1grand, but I don't think you will ever find a screaming deal on either of the FN guns, just too few of them out there.

As far as original question, the .45 for sure. The 5.7 is still on my for fun if I had the cash just *laying* around.

I love GB, I just picked up a POF in 308 for two thousand, new. There are good deals, you just have to catch them.

Or you can go dig a hole in the back yard, drop the $$$$ in there and save enough to go buy both.

For under 1k I would go for a High-power. Its classy and points so well. I got a FN MK 3 SFS High-power back in 2005 and I can not find another handgun that works as well. Just a suggestion.

    Default 5.7

I own both pistol and they are excellent. The 5.7 is an amazing gun, really light and will make you feel like a marksman since it is so easy to shoot. 20 rnd in a mag, make for a lot of firepower in your hand. I was converted to it by a friend who carry a 5.7 as a truck driver in the middle east. His company only allowed one hand gun with 2 mags: one of his buddy was carrying a 1911 and run out of ammo in an ambush waiting for the army to rescue them, he was able to shoot (in the air) but kept the bad guys at bay.

5.7 is a perfect round for home defense, since it will kill the bad guy (tumbling bullet make for horrendous channel wound) but not go through your house drywall killing your kids in the other room....

Please don't listen to the BS about 5.7: This is a great round and the fn 5.7 is a great gun.

I know man, if you go back and read I already corrected this misconception on page 1 or 2. The FiveseveN is still very high on my list, and I also after much research have determined it to be a great SD round, however at this point Im leaning toward the tactical in .45 just due to ammo availibility (get it anywhere) and ease of reloading. Once I get it down good only then will I attempt to reload 5.7 as everyone I have asked even on the fiveseven forum states it is a tricky and unforgiving round.
