    Default Chimney sweepers

Anyone recommend a chimney sweep or a do it yourself way to clean my chimney?

Friend of mine works for, and his father-in-law owns, Chimney Cricket in Woodland Park. If they don't go to Denver, maybe they could recommend someone for you.

    Please contact Chimney Cricket at:

Don't you have preteen kids? Give them a broom and dustpan and tell them to get cracking! If nothing else the threat should be a good motivator for the rest of their chores.

I usually burn one of those cresote logs at the beginning and middle of the season.

I just had Complete Chiminey Cleaning clean mine. They were reasonable and did a good job. They are firefighters that clean chiminey one the side.

Decided to run cat5/coax to all the rooms in the house (pre-wireless), got the kids all excited to "go up in the attic and check it out". Had one kid by the ankles in the attic, holding him down into the space that the exhaust pipes from the water heater etc run up though so he could drill holes in the fire block for running cable. They never checked out the attic again and my wire puller disapeared.

    cheers,
    Tim

I called 2 companies, one was $170 and one was $99. It really doesnt take that long. They were done in 30 minutes. They scub the chimney with a brush and vacume it up. I had just bought a 40 yr old house and wanted to see if the chimney was ok and clean it. It was more about the inspection. You can buy the brush at home depot for $35
