Concealing a Taser

Do you need a license to conceal carry a Taser in a purse?

Boss is asking regarding her daughter. I dont think so, but want know for sure.

Colo. Rev. Stat. § 18-12-101. Definitions
(i.5) "Stun gun" means a device capable of temporarily immobilizing a person by the infliction of an electrical charge.

Colo. Rev. Stat. § 18-12-106.5. Use of stun guns
A person commits a class 5 felony if he knowingly and unlawfully uses a stun gun in the commission of a criminal offense.

So, yes, for the most part it is legal in Colorado to carry a civilian model TASER concealed. However, weapons of any type, (legal length knives included), are prohibited in most pubic buildings, to include schools, courts, municipal & state offices, etc.

Good to know... maybe ill get my wife one of those personal tasers... i would hate to get nailed with that dang thing... cant remember if it was 15 or 30 seconds on those but either way i thought 5 seconds felt like forever! ( and it was for training i got shot) haha figured i should probably add that

Tasers are not considered firearms by the ATF and concealed handgun laws don't apply. You can carry a concealed Taser in places where a firearm may not be legal but many of the public businesses / buildings that prohibit firearms (DIA, post office, courthouse, Boulder County Sheriff's Office, etc) specifically prohibit Tasers as well.

I got a very strange look from the two deputies working the metal detector in Boulder when I asked "I work as a firearms instructor and CCW trainer and noticed Taser wasn't on the list of prohibited items -- I assume you do not allow people to bring Tasers in, right?" ...and confirmed we're not permitted to carry Tasers in there.

They're a great option if you can't carry a gun (and Taser is permitted / legal) or have a need for less-lethal options in areas a firearm may not be the best solution (dense crowds, nightclubs, sporting events - just not the NFL - or others).

The C2 delivers constant voltage for 30 seconds a shot. The battery is good for 50 charges and the shelf life on both the battery and the cartridge is ridiculous (15 years for the battery, 10 years for the cartridge, I think).

I've taken a face full of OC -- training, yes -- and it sucked the unholiest of the unholy holes. I have yet to take a Taser hit and I suppose I'd step up for it if I had to but I'm not sure I'd like it. 30 seconds is a LOOOOOOOONG time if you want it to be.

Then... if you want the bad guy to ride the lightning again, hit the button for 30 seconds of more fun! The C2 is a GREAT option for folks who don't want to carry a gun but want something. OC is VERY target-oriented and you can fight through it. Taser causes involuntary incapacitation, not just pain compliance.

Sucked the unholiest of holes is right The exposure you get during training is way worse than the dose a moving perp gets. I laugh when I think back on that day, but I will never forget it. At least with the taser, you can recover your faculties pretty quickly.
Now that I think about it, a taser in the hands of a civillian might be more frightening than a can of OC in an instructors hand.

Majority of people who got tased and OCed rather get tased.
I got a back splash of FOX OC once, and it feels as bad (maybe worse) as a full spray of First Defense.

I love Taser C2 , because it costs fraction of X26/c.
If someone is getting a C2, I would strongly recommand one with laser.
