Default Happy B Day: Check Your Drivers License

Getting a back ground check yesterday for a 4473 and guess what? Monday was my B day and it so happens that your Drivers License in CO expire on that day every few years. It sucks having them tell you that you were denied and having to leave your new toy with them. So, if you have recently had a B-Day, you might want to check your DL to see if it has expired.

Renew online that is what I did. I was at work and I got a call from fleet and they were like umm your DL is expired. I was like crap, and looked at it and it had been expired for 2 months. So, I went on CO's DMV site and reniewed through them, I think there is like a $1 processing fee but it is worth the saved time. they give you a recipt that you can print out and you will get yoru new one in the mail.

Could have been worse, my friend got stopped for having a tail light out a few months ago (I think July) and his birthday was in Feb... needless to say it slipped his mind and he never looked- license expired in Feb, cop proceeded to cite him for driving without a license. Got cleared up as he went and got it renewed before court and they threw it out, but still had to pay $200-something in court fees.

I though you could only renew online if your DL hadn't expired yet?

Just got back from getting the new DL. All the English speaking folk must do their DLs on line. It only took about an hour and now I have my new toy. I hope I remember this in five years.
