    Default AK Underfold- Which one?

I am thinking about purchasing an underfolder AK. I already have a MAADI but want an underfold. I have been looking at Century (CIA) Yugo and Polish models. Any thoughts? Are these good enough quality for just the occasional shooter? Any help would be appreciated.

Century is really hit or miss... if you could purchase it in person and check for common problems like canted front site post etc you might be alright. I know first hand there is a wave of Yugo UF kits such as M-70 kits etc coming into country and there is plenty of Polish UF kits floating around you might be best off getting a parts kit build from a reputable builder like Vector, Velocity.... etc or just going to a build party. I know one of the members from this forum that bought 7.62x39 ammo is very knowledgeable on builds.

    Default Yugo M70

I have a fixed stock and an underfolder, and there great. I sold my Arsenal and kept them. They don't have crome lined barrels ,thats about the only bad or not good thing about them. I was thinking about getting a Polish one ,there about $500. Good luck

Yea century is hit or miss with them
If your gonna go that route bring someone who has a bit of knowledge and let them look at it before you get it
I realy cant say who makes a good one, build wise-I build my own,but as far as country quality polish, hungarian and yugos are real nice-rommys are ok
There functional but there finish isnt the best
Just go out with a bud and start shopping and trying out what feels right for you,and set a limit on what youd like to spend-i think there starting around 500 for a century so work it from there

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like it's just a matter of feeling them up and deciding from there.

Anybody know about Interarms? Saw a underfold on Gunbroker from them. Chrome lined barrels.

Find someone who owns an under folder and shoot it first. IMHO, outside the cool "look" factor, cheek weld sucks. Nice to have in a collection, but one that collects more dust than range time.

I used to think that, until I put 550 cord on it. Now I shoot it alot. If your ever lost down south, come by,I have a Yugo you can shoot. If you buy it for the cool factor, it will just sit

I've got a Yugo Underfolder SBR Krinkov that is my favorite. Took it to Mean Streets AK class, over a backpack, sighted in at 100 Yds, had a 2.0" spread. Not bad for a quick sight in. Ran excellent. Folds to under 21" OAL

Jim's right, need to do something with the wire stock. Para works wonders.

Brokenscout, you just wrapped the whole stock in 550? That makes sense I guess. Hopefully I will be looking at some in person next week and see what looks good, fits good, etc.
