Anyone know of any good places to shoot in Douglas County
ben lomond, quail run, cherry creek, etc.
there are plenty of ranges outside doug. co. to go shoot, that arent that much farther of a commute.
where in castle rock do you live, if you dont mind me asking?
Yea i was home on leave picked up an AR and was wanting to take it out... but didnt know of a place. Im also from c-rock, i live down on Hover drive.
Hello, members.
I usually go to the Shootist on weekends since I shoot handguns only. This place however is always packed.
Are there any private gun clubs that can be joined so one can shoot at a decent range?
Thanx all!!!

Y'all need to join Ben Lomond Gun Club. www.blgc.org Once you've joined, just head straight east out of C. Rock on 86, out past Kiowa, to the sign pointing south to Ramah. There's a BLGC sign there, and a call-box phone on a post also. Go south on that dirt road 5 miles, can't miss it. Best place for shooting you'll ever find. Seems like a looooong damn way out there, but it's about 45-50 minutes from Parker for me.
Make sure you have plenty of gas, bring drinks and snacks if you wish. There's portajohns, and a new clubhouse under construction with restrooms, might even be done now. Camping and RV parking available. Several separate bermed ranges from short to 100 yds., a high-power range out to 600 yards, a shotgun trap/skeet area, silhouette range for rimfires, archery area, and a lead-only cowboy range out to 500 yds.
Perty cool place. Here, I'll even give ya some photos. These are old and just a sample of some of the small ranges, plus it's changed a lot, but you'll get the idea. 560 acres of private club land, and ALL the landowners in the surrounding areas are lifetime members, so they don't bitch 'bout nothing.
Only real major rules are treat the place and each other with respect, don't leave trash, don't destroy things, no booze, just act like adults.

This looks appealing. I'm in Parker and despise the Firing Line and would love to find a good outdoor range or BLM area to shoot... Will be looking into this.
Neither dilly nor dally, the membership is nearing the limit, so I hear. Meetings are at the Franktown firehouse at 7pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (I think, check the website for details). Joining is usually no problem at all. I swear, you go there once and you'll never go anywhere else again.
The gun club in centennial might be the ticket if u wanna become a member. Only like 6 lanes now, but when the new range opens(eventually) aint gonna be nothing closer.
Are you talking about the semi-mythical range on Arapahoe - http://www.centennialgunclub.com/? Trying to figure out if they're actually open for anything from their website is difficult at best.
Yeah, they're open. I stopped by there once, definitely got the vibe that it's intended for "higher-end" folks with lots of money, that want to play in the "gun owner world". Seen prices on things that I didn't even know could go that freakin' high.
And I'm not "signing up" and waiting for a fucking shooting lane at NOBODY'S damn range. And then have some RO breathing over my shoulder? No thanks. Hell, they wouldn't even give me a tour of the range to look it over, because it was "busy".
Fawk 'em. I'd rather go ask a rancher if he has a hillside somewhere I could shoot into. Unsociable bastard that I am......
