Prayers Needed

Man,
You always think your life is so bad until something tragic happens.

Got a call around 10:20 last night that one of my band kids hung himself. He was only a 6th grader... He "seemed" fine but there has been some home issues (parents getting divorced, etc), etc that played a role.

Please pray for the family, school, friends, etc and everyone who is affected. This is a tragic loss. If you have a good family, give them a hug.

Yeah, that's something I'm personally struggling with. I've always told 'em to come talk to me, etc. That I am their advocate in life.

To make it even worse, I was informed that this happened last year to a member of the soccer team (I'm a new teacher at this school)... So it's a double whammy as this particular kid was also on the soccer team.

I have lost a number of friends to suicide, and it always leaves more questions than answers in its wake. Speaking to someone that had attempted it, they usually feel that the pain of going on is too much to bear. Unfortunately, the person in question most often can't see that there is any light at the end of the tunnel, or that there are lots of people that will help and support them.
