Text Messages: A Personal Perspective

Texting comes in handy for certain things. However, the Art of proper and effective communication is decreasing with the introduction of the now "txtg lnge". If I do not know the person, a phone call or email will do. If I do know them, I'll text, just quicker for me as I just tend to get directly to the point.

I.E: Dinner, 1700, TX Rdhouse? -Tim

Glad you brought the "txtg lnge" up. Although I do text a ton, I spell every single word out, and use proper grammar (to the best of my ability lol). Never got on that "txtg lnge" bandwagon. Folks will send me stuff, and i'm like what the hell is that.

The buttons on my phone definitely ARE broken, and I've stopped bothering to correct the mistakes. It likes to either leave out the "b" or add three of them in a row. Can't wait to get a new phone, but won't do so until prices come down and battery life goes up.

Sounds like pretty "effective communication" to me! She obviously just didn't get it.

One more thought on this. The kids when they first come to work for us are very dismayed. Huh??? No service?? What is this? Yes gang your cell phone does not work in our shop. This is the biggest kick of all.

I text, if I'm under the watchful eye of the wife/family or work it's my only means of comms (sorry Carl, we all know you're 'aged'). If you don't like it...you're too old. I will add...my texts include verbs and adjectives so you're ----> nt likly 2run n2 dis cht
