I heard about a study one time that a university conducted where they created a complicated computer model where a virus broke out and turned poeple to zombies. Every simmulation they ran all ended up with no one surviving because it spread to quickly to get ahead of.
I would like to read that study. I bet they didn't include variables like guns or people that knew how to use them.
If the virus was only transferred by ingestion or through the skin like most zombie movies are I don't see it lasting more than a few days and never making it out of a single city. But if was in the water or air or just gods will like in the movie "The Stand" where everyone but the chosen few die. I could see how it would be a total loss.

And now we can't cuss and vent here anymore, so the pressure will just keep building until we explode!You guys are my biggest worry. No power = no COAR and we saw how quickly we went into withdrawals after being cut off for only a few hours.
I think preparing for huge riot is more than enough.
TO some, Riot can be SHTF.

Yes, it's real, the CDC really did it as a publicity stunt, for the same reason as described by others- preparing for such an event is also preparing for natural disasters, pandemic outbreak, etc..
