Default If you're gonna use AR parts on your AK

    Make it look like this.
I wanted to do a com-bloc version of the XM-177 / Commando / CAR-15 just for ****s & giggles. All i see are magpul stocks, magpul stocks, magpul stocks. on ak's so i went a different route
    I took my Draco-C pistol

and following ATF guidelines went to a rifle config until i decide how i want my SBR to look.
Stock is an used Ace folder, AFG (YES it's a MAGPUL ) generic AK quad rail from the used bin, used permanently attached a 5.5" AR flash hider to round it out to a legal 16.5' bbl. I have had this sitting in the locker until i located the parts to turn it in to this gem.
I don't think my picture taking does justice to the semi finished project. I don't normally get excited about a toy i wanted to do, but this one is up there regarding a keeper. This unit shoulders nice, sights go right up to line of sight, feel of it is very comfortable.

I had an AK pistol once, and it looked like it would require machine work to put a stock on it. How did you do it?

the draco has an underfolder rear trunion, i could have drilled holes through he side of the receiver, but do not like cheek weld of the UF. I dug up an ACE folding stock unit
    http://riflestocks.com/store/product105.html
squared it to the rear of the receiver center punched 2 guide holes then drilled and tapped for an 8-32 button head bolt. if you had another one we could knock it out in about 20-30 minutes. A little patience (which i lack) and this is the end result. I an removing the f/hider and follow justins suggestion i turn down the back section of the hider to match the front sight block diameter. I have a few nfa toys and will do this one in to a SBR eventually, however i am liking the look i thought up and may just keep it as is.

Is the Draco threaded m14x1LH or did you rethread it to 1/2-28? Or did you find a flash hider threaded M14-1LH?
