    Default AR-15 Pistol?

So been looking for a new toy. I have considered all kinds of rifles but what about a AR-15 pistol. Any shooters out there? How is one properly shot? Do you put your cheek on the buffer tube?

    Thanks

The one I've shot had foam padding on the buffer tube and you could kind of push it against your shoulder like a stock. Not as solid as a rifle stock, but since the 5.56mm doesn't kick all that bad, it works ok.

AR pistols are just like you said, toys ... although if you pony up the $200 plus the cost of a stock and SBR it, then you have something useful (but my GOD they're loud ... which is half the fun).

I'd go with an AK47 pistol. The x39 round doesn't lose nearly as much of its oomph from a short barrel as the 5.56 does.

also note that if you get the bright idea of putting a vertical fore grip on an AR or AK pistol you've just created an AOW and need to register it with the feds and pay your tax stamp,

then you would have something like this

i removed the wood furniture and slapped some spares i had in storage. i then removed the bbl nut and installed this FN hider i cut down. I made it for an AMD project to keep the bbl at 16"OAL but tried it on the draco-c. eventually i might actually fire it.

And you'd have to do all this paperwork BEFORE you get the idea to attach the vertical fore grip.

you can run a magpul VFG as the feds have ruled it to be Not a grip that would make your pistol a SBR? I will dig up the reference if you absolutely must have it.

Hey Jim, Could you post/forward any reference on this please? I have been thinking about it, and have been told that it would've been an AOW.
