I truthfully smoke for 2 reasons.

    1. I enjoy it
    2. It helps with ulcerative colitis flare ups (only thing tobacco is good for)

I will quit until my next flare up(a year or 2) and then start smoking to help the flare up go away then stop again until the next flare.
UC is simular to crohn's disease FWIW.
I've seen someone whose feet are literally rotting off because their peripheral vascular disease was so bad. The smell was terrible. His toes were black and he had ulcers on his legs from vascular insufiency. The vascular team eventually signed off the case cause they never could find him. He was always going off in his motorized chair to go smoke.

This is going to sound cruel, but truth hurts. Smoking is one of the stupidest thing you can do to yourself for your health.

Glad you quit. Keep it up.

Congrats on quitting. I have tried many times and failed but will be giving it another try very soon. I really hate it and need to stop. I'll be starting the Naval Special Warfare training program soon and can't be smoking when I do that.
