Why are cranberries upside down?

Anyone ever noticed that the label on cans of cranberries are always upside down? What's the deal?

I tried googling it, and came up with this:

I guess that could be the answer, but seems kind of weird. Are all the other spoons occupied by the time people get around to opening the cranberries? Want that perfect shape for your plate? Just pop them out like normal, no need to store them for weeks upside down to get them out in one piece right? Anyone know?
