    Default Realtime Vehicle GPS

what would be the best style of gps to put in my vehicle to know were it is in real time? It will actually be used for my fathers car that he lets someone use that I dont trust. I know the car is being used for things other than what he is told, and he is recovering from a heart attack and gets really upset when his car is not were it is when it is supposed to be at home. So I am looking for a GPS that does not have to be wired into the car, and one without a monthly charge or a cheap fee if there has to be one. Thanks for your input.

I looked into these with a buddy for his landscape company's vehicles.

As far as I know, you can't get real-time without a service plan.

The cheapest we came up with was a SilverCloud by LandAirSea Systems for 300$ and 20$ a month for service.

This would be your best option.

This might not be bad for the price. Hide in the vehicle, then recover and download the info....not a bad price considering. I have seen them online starting at $20.00

I like this idea does the phone have to be activated with a plan?

you could also buy a handheld hunting GPS. leave it in the vehicle under the seat or in the glovebox or something. leave the tracking on and it will draw you the lines of where it has been.
