OK. I see everyone's points about the negativity of the "crosshairs" design. For those I may have unintentionally offended, I offer my apologies. Like I mentioned earlier, not all of my ideas are good and few of them are thought through very well.

Oh, I didn't want to seem like I was offended. I think I speak for everyone here and I say that we know your intentions were good and yo meant no disrespect. The difference is this is a smaller community and we all know what you intended but out in public is a different world and the likelihood of everyone else knowing your intent upon seeing it isn't as high. I do think it was a pretty good idea though considering what everyone is working with and it's certainly better any any designs I've submitted.![]()

Going off Spyder's idea a bit...
I know they look like crap... I downloaded the image processor 10 min ago, used images from google, and have no image editing skills. If someone that knows what they're doing were to rework the idea with good images and whatnot I think it might come out pretty cool (the idea being looking down a barrel... seeing the rifling and the nose of the bullet).

That is a cool concept.
Whenever my wife asks me why I never wear pants around the house I simply remind her:
"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” - Winston Churchill
The truth wears NO pants!
Here's some concept art... I am not much of an artist. Using Zundfolge's concept of the bird cage, plus the rifling. The bird cage might look better without the rounding where I attempted to show fluting. Maybe get rid of the outer most black circle too?

How about
CO-AR15
Pretty simple
I am still serious wondering how in the hell anyone can claim copyright on a design or image that is currently public domain.
that would be like me trying to copyright a circle...
