Need help with serial number prefix on a pistol

Its a Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded and looks pretty much brand new and
I was under the impression that all loaded models were manufactured entirely in the US and not Brazil

I have owned loaded models in the past and had the NM as a prefix to the serial number.
Along with the Geneseo IL above it.

Well this particular 1911 Loaded model had just an "N" as the prefix.

Anyone help me with this, is it made all in the US or in Brazil or combo???

I told ya when I sold it back to you that if Brazil wasn't stamped on it and it has only the "N" prefix it US made and to confirm this with a phone call or E- mail to SA. - just had to razz you.-

This is a diffrent one all together.

The owner of the gun store wasnt 100% sure on if it was a Brazilian or an American made receiver.

Well then tell him it is a Brazilian made and offer him $200 less !

My Loaded V-10 starts with "N".
And has "Imbel Brazil" on the dust cover.
It would be safe to say the "N" prefix does not have anything to do with country of origin.

As far as firearms go, if it is not made in the US, it has to have the country of origin stamped into it, or at least that was my understanding. Although I have been wrong before, - once-.

You're welcome. I wanted to know the same thing as GM2 does at one time . Just happened to remember the the sticky thread on the topic and posting the link which was way easier than getting into all the specifics. A lot of great info in that sticky for sure!

Well Im glad I passed on that N prefixed SA Loaded today and didnt trade off my Sig P220 for it.
I would have felt like a dumbass for that mistake.
Just sucks as I now know I am more of a 1911 fan then I previously thought.
