Default Take note! Dont leave a bore sight in your rilfe

Found this on one of my forums. Some one foregot to take out their bore sight before shooting. Crazy, and mythbusters said this could not happen.

    Bore sight, whats left

    Rifle, whats left

My best guess would be somebody having fun with a photo editing program.

Well the guy who posted this originally is a big member of the other forum and he said it happened at his gun club. There’s even a range report to go with it. Does that mean its real no not at all, but I'm more temped to believe him because of that. He did not just come on saying dude I found these pics, talk about crazy. I also dont belive this do be a photoshop

That doesn't look like a photochop to me. The right-hand barrel peel has a kink in it that's visible in both pics, all the lighting is perfect, the boresight is obviously demolished in the right way..... I tend to believe it.

I don't see any JPEG artifacts (or any other artifacts) where they're not supposed to be in either the bore sight picture or the rifle pictures. The textures in the carpeting on the bench and wall behind the rifle would show obvious signs of manipulation (unless it was done by someone with WAY too much time on their hands).

So, they're real KB pics, but of course we can't tell from just the pictures whether they're really related or not.

Believe what you wish guys that is fantasy. There is nothing you could ever do to create that effect. That picture has been floating around the net for several months now. I have seen many barrels damaged from a blockage and that will never happen. Gunworks had a full display case of barrels that had a blockage and not a single one was even close to that. Myth Busters even did an episode on the very same myth and they were unable to ever duplicate that.

It's a hoax and just for the record there is a reason photo shop comes free with windows there is much better software out there. [wink]

Daves guns on Parker Road has a 22 revolver on the counter cut in two that has six rounds stacked on top of each other the bbl just has a bulge in it. The guy who fired the gun said he only noticed on the last round when he was peppered by shrapnel from the last bullet.
