thanks guys.. I always order pizza online we get the $10 how you want it pizza, so I get all meat and my wife gets her veggies and bacon.. Nice to get half what she wants and half what I like and only $10..
Chrome is pretty sweet. I have always been a IE fan and ran Norton add-in, but getting hacked was not fun.. I don't download games or anything so I don't really know where it came from..

Unless you get extra lucky and it's hiding in your MBR, or if you wipe that too, hiding in your BIOS. Good times.

No, I meant that you should detonate a thermo nuclear Device in your livingroom and then pave that part of the state...

So your suggestion for him is to go out and get a whole new machine?

What was the problem with America? Wow! This reminds me of the South Park Worlds of Warcraft episode.

Don't forget to install Microsoft Security Essentials if you're running a registered copy of Windows. I personally can't stand McAfee or Norton and as paid services they don't even work as well as MSE which is free. Run Firefox instead of IE and make sure it's up to date as well.

All this being said.... none of this matters if you give them permission to install this stuff on your PC. Think about that before you install stupid free games and open attachments in forwarded emails. Educate yourself on what is and isn't a virus as well as how most are transmitted, add the aforementioned software helpers and you will have a much lower likelihood of being compromised.

MSE is the best anti-virus I've used thus far. It's very quiet, integrates well with Windows, and has the smallest footprint I've seen from AV.

We even use it at work since we count under MS' "personal/private" licensing for it.

Someone likely installed a backdoor-type malware program on your machine, probably through a disguised download. Do you have any kids or anyone else using that computer?

I used to have a lot of fun with Sub7 back in middle school...
