    Default Arapahoe County renewal?

    Anyone done one recently?

Just having moved, and staying in Arapahoe, AND my permit coming due in December, I called the sheriff's office to find out exactly what I should do with needing to change my address and renew my permit..

Left a message for the lady I was directed to, we played phone tag a few times, and finally I get her on the phone..

She told me since I just moved, and it didn't expire till December to just put in the change of address... and wait till a few weeks prior to expiration, come on down w/ the $$$$ and renewal packet.. and they'd get me a new one right then and there...

Am I right to be skeptical?

Yes, It took Jeffco 90 days to do my last renewal. I'd submit the renewal app ASAP.

I renewed mine last Dec in Arapahoe county.
I printed out the form and questions from their website and filled them out.
I walked in --no wait. They took me to the CCW permit room and went over my paperwork. A lady took my permit and they took a new photo of me. A few minutes later the lady walked back in and handed me my new permit and said "congratulations--see you in 5 years". I was in and out of there in less than a half hour with my new permit in hand. It only took that long because they had changed a few questions around and I had to redo part of one questionaire.
It was as they say it is--quick and painless

I haven't had to deal with the address change. The renewal was only a few minutes once I got in. The wait was a little long the day I went.

^^^ This. I renewed mine earlier this year. It is over the counter no-wait. Love the process at ACSO.

Need to address change for Arapahoe... the form has notary public section. I'm assuming this is not needed for Address Change, since the form also is used for lost/damaged permits? I cannot imagine needing an address change notarized.

I don't know if you already have a CCW from Arapahoe County. If you do, the Chang of address card and wait till just before expiration to renew for a same day permit sounds right.

I renewed mine for Arapahoe County last year and it was same day service. I lost just under 3 months on my permit due to the fact that I needed to renew my DL before it expired, and went to Arapahoe County sheriffs the same day to renew my permit.

We went in last Wednesday, Denver permit renewing with Arapahoe , they said they needed to make sure we “were in good standing” with Denver before we would get our new cards , still haven’t heard back . Called twice and they said it’s the norm waiting for Denver to do anything.

update - got our permits back , took 3 days during the holidays , no too bad.
I have to say everybody we dealt with at the Arapahoe Sheriff’s dept was a real class act , polite and very pleasant to deal with. The older deputy running the metal detector was super helpful , and awesome , kinda one of those dudes that’s old enough to see thorough the crap and not let anything ruin his day, it was refreshing. Thank you Arapahoe County Sheriff’s dept.
