    Default speaking of elk.....

Did I ever post my video from Estes Park a couple years ago? Apologies if I did....but he got really close to me, too damn close for comfort. My wife and SIL were crapping their pants. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wFkjwovU8Q

That elk pee'd a lot. At the end, when you stopped turning the camera, was it because he was so close you were running for your life?

No, I was standing on the side of the highway, on the road side of the guardrail, with the tripod straddling the guardrail. As the bull was stepping over the guardrail towards the road, I was gingerly stepping over it towards the ditch. I was trying to keep the guardrail between us, and be as non-threatening to him as I could be.

I think bull elk are awesome, beautiful animals, but I have GREAT respect for those antlers, especially those foot-long daggers sticking straight out the front!

I forgot I had this photo, the grandson took it with his cellphone. You can see my tripod and fat face at the right.
