Had a handgun listed here and on another forum. Guy emails me several times to get my best price. I agree and we set up a meet and I tell him I'd need to see his Colorado DL. He then tells me he is a resident but has an Alaska DL. Since a DL is the only legally acceptable form of ID I tell him I won't sell to him. I've not heard back since. Luckily I have a back-up offer. The thought of a BATF sting did cross my mind.

If he claims to be a resident of Colorado, then he is required by state law to obtain a Colorado DL within 60 days of moving here. Good call on your part to not go through with the sale.
