Bumping this thread. I interacted with Mikhail of Emberlit stove - he seems to be a stand up guy. I have seen his stove in action and finally got a chance to purchase one.

Due to metal cost, some of his prices are going up soon. He made a special link to maintain the current price for his facebook fans. http://www.emberlit.com/lastchancebuy.php

I made a hobo stove for camping, but for the price, this is hard to beat. Runs on wood so you'll never be without fuel. I ordered one and am very pleased with the stainless steel material and build quality. These are a great preparedness item to have on hand.
    thanks

    Aw thanks guys..

I noticed one of the questions bout hobo stove in general was "why not cook on a fire?" That is a great question. I myself often just kick over a rock and start a small fire in there to cook. Hobo stoves excel at efficiency. They use very little fuel and produce a whole lot of heat just where you need it. Hobostoves, or braziers go all the way back to the pyramids. They provide an efficient, contained, and directed source of heat using biomas fuels.

Nwmanitou, your stove fits perfectly in my binoculars case. I enjoy the stove.

Anyone ever made a beer can stove? I made one last year and used "heet" as fuel. Worked great!

This is basically the one I made. It's a little more complicated to make, but it is super easy to use! I can make another one and post video if anyone is interested. ETA: The only tools I used were a pair of scissors and a thumbtack.

Beer can stoves are awesome. I was surprised by just how well they worked. Thanks for the vid.
My latest alky stove is made from a venom can. I found a vid on youtube that shows how to make a die then use a car jack to press the can into a single piece double wall. I'll have to find it again.
