Been there once.. it was pouring down rain and they didn't miss a step. I did though as the erflu took hold of me when leaving the cemetary.. spent the next two days missing everything I wanted to see in the area.. miserable trip.. but I got to see the Tomb and the Eternal flame.. so it wasn't all a waste.

I have stood many times on the step for many ceremonies while I was assigned to that unit. Everything is done in all seriousness.

I used to go to the Tomb of the Unknowns or TUS once a week on my own and would always be my place for second or third dates.

THe best is getting to go into the ready area. There is a lot of cool stuff in there.

If you are interested in the Tomb or Arlington Cemetery check out "On Hallowed Ground"...Great book.

It truely is a humbling experience. I have been there a couple of times.

One time was Father's Day in 2000 with my Dad. It probably was one
of my best days in life to be at Arlington, Vietnam Memorial, USMC Memorial
and a few other places with my Dad on Father's Day of all days.
