Default Rhino Here from Denver, CO

Howdy folks! I'm a Colorado native and am here to continue learning about Concealed.

I should be getting my Denver County issued permit in a few days and am not sure whether or not I'll be getting a gun but feel like our 2nd Amendment is being eroded away and have a strong interest in the original intention of our founding fathers. I firmly believe in our right to bear arms.

Currently I don't own a gun. I had a .22 bolt action rifle and also a .22 Ruger pistol years ago but sold them because I didn't like having a guns around my house.

I'm in no hurry to get a gun but sure would like to get to know more about technique, safety, gear, and legal ramifications. I'm sure there are some good people on here so making a few new friends is always a welcome thing too!

I spend a lot of my free time Jeeping, camping, and since I'm already out there will probably be target shooting too. I'm a firm believer in being able to have a ton of fun without being disrespectful to others. I wheel with a group of people that firmly believes in staying on the trail, we pack out more trash than we created, we clear trails from fallen trees, and pick up our casings and all remnants of target shooting.

Top of the World, Moab, UT.

My 4Wheeling Rig on top of Red Cone. It's a 2001 Toyota 4Runner.

    Chinaman Gulch, Buena Vista, CO.

I'm currently looking at the Chiappa 20DS as a primary carry since I think it might be one that I can spend some time on the range and in the forest shooting a lot. I'm impatiently planning to wait a year or so before making a decision on whether to buy it or not. I have the cash set aside for it now but I've read about trigger mechanism malfunctions and heavy trigger pull so I'm waiting to see if those will prove to be the death of a reliable gun or if it's a case of new release bugs. Any info or opinions from first hand experience is welcome.

I'm actively seeking some knowledge and experience from folks that have been around for a while. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you folks on the range sometime soon.

I wouldn't wait a year to get a gun if I were you and it also sounds like you could benefit alot from a basic firearms training class, there's no reason to be scared if you use all the gun safety rules.

With a 4-Runner like that you must know Scott @ Addicted Offroad. From the OP seems like you will fit right in! Nice pictures!
