Default Colored rubber grip panels for pistols!

A'right...crazy idea time: who has colored rubberized grip panels for pistols? Panels like Pachy, Hogue, etc for 1911s, Beretta 92s, Browning HPs in OD green, Dk Earth, Sand, Grey. If no-one has 'em, somebody should make 'em.

I know Hogue makes custom grips because Will just showed me his pair yesterday for his 45. I also know there is a company in Louisville, Ky. that makes colored grips for various guns. They made the grips for Group Industries Uzis and show up at Knob Creek regularly. I'll see if I can find their name and info. Karl.

Several manufactuers make aftermarket colored and custom grips. Hogue, Kimber and if you have lots of money and are very patient Wicked Grips offers some of the best custom work avilable. http://www.wickedgrips.com

Hogue made these scrimshaw grips for my 1911.

They would look super evil sitting in a duty holster. It would at least make the suspects think twice about doing anything stupid. I don't carry this piece because I don't want to get hung in court, but it looks realy evil sitting in my safe

Yup my thoughts exactly. So how did you go about getting them to make them for you?

I might get a pair just for the hell of it.

Mine were a stock pattern. It took about 6mo, since they are all hand made. They were around $70. http://www.getgrip.com/main/overview....45%20Art.html

    Default nope. wrong target

None of those suggestions got me where I needed to be, but thanks. I did like the art of the fancy stuff, but it's gonna last in the fields. Wickedgrips has some nice work to be sure. Hogue has nice laminated stuff and I see plenty o'black rubber but no colors. Pachmeyr doesn't have any either, and I don't want to pay big bucks for custom rubberized grips or from Kimber (who I think are way overpriced anyway). I did find some 1911 and M92 grips from ERGO tho: not quite the soft tacky rubber, but they'll do. I don't want classy and showy, I need practical and durable in camo colors.

For those purposes I've only seen the Kimber grips designed for the Warrior pistol line.

Same here, only seen 'em on Kim Warriors. And nothing against Kimber really. To me it's like looking at a supermodel and saying, "she's too skinny" but knowing full well that if I had one in my hands I'd be a happy SOB. Still, I now have ideas for a gift set o'grips to a niece-in-law packin' a polished compact .45. "I've never shot before", she says...just before planting all rounds in the black.
