Default The S is about to hit the F

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/envoy/is...211736856.html

Saw this when I got to work this morning...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak are working to convince other members of Netanyahu's cabinet and Israeli security chiefs that Israel needs to launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear program. Netanyahu and Barak "are trying to muster a majority in the cabinet in favor of military action against Iran
I don't think Oblowme will be a strong supporter of Israel's actions if they take any, and further alienate our friends in an area where they are so few. I'm not saying I support action, but I'm not saying I don't... Israel would be the biggest and closest ally threatened by an Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program and could bolster fears that they actually would use if they really wanted to. I have friends in Israel and I don't want to see them killed in nuclear fire.
How do you all feel about this growing issue?

Israel is going to do it no matter who has their back. If they attack Iran, Iran kills Americans. So if they're going to do it, I say we need to be ready to retaliate and blow up Irans military installations if they attack us.

You have to look at the bigger political issue on this one. Iran says they will not bend and such which leads to some sanctions but more importantly (for Iran) it leads to concessions for them. "Don't do this and we will give you this" The same holds true for Israel.

Do I think Israel will act? Highly doubtful. Do I think Iran will come out of this with some hefty $$$, yes.

I see it not as solely a bigger political issue, but a bigger religious issue. It appears that Iran is stopping at nothing in acquiring nuclear weaponry.

I got a hundred bucks that says if they get a bomb and Israel knows for sure, they will attack.

What do they have to lose at that point? Just look at their history, preemptive strikes to survive isn't a new thing for them. Of course only time will tell, but it does seem to be getting close. Maybe it'll happen right before the big 2012 date and the whole world will flip out.

well considering we provided the nukes to Israel we are f... I mean scr... In trouble no matter what. So, I say, If they want to launch a pre-emptive strike, lets just do it like we have been doing it for 64 years: Look the other way, and then help rebuild/broker a truce.

I am sure the Russian won't mind since Iran has been supporting Islamist in their influence zone for some time now....

Israel isn't that badass. They totally f-ed up the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War to a point that they were losing.

It is still an issue to gain some relief in the sanctions as well as more $$$.
