ok your right he should have turned her over to the cops for stealing and seeing as he is a judge he should have thrown the book at her .
Even this caning is VERY different from the Dad whipping his girl. No anger, no cussing or threatening to cane the BGs face...hell, there is even a guy holding/patting the criminal's head while the caning is going on. Nothing emotional about it. There is more to being a parent than physical persuasion and the threat of "the Cops". Neither "correction" is going to solve the problem, but will IMO just create more problems.
