    I have an M38 in an M44 stock that I refinished. I had to, it was just too nasty to leave as-is. Came out looking pretty good too! I still need to do my 91/30, it looks like it was refinished with a dirty sock. Those Russians just didn't care how the rifles looked, I guess, as long as they worked OK.
