You bought race tires for street use?

Tires were cold... I high sided losing the rear when it was warm and it left a nice 20 to 30ft drift mark... yep, I got the wind knocked out of me
Race DOT's. They're dual compounds.
The center is the hard compound and the sides are close to slicks depending weather you get soft, mediums, or hard.
I usually ran with soft front and hard rear tires.. on a 1000 cc bike that rear will go bye-bye quick...

Ya I was happy I low sided. I was more concerned of being ran over after haha. I need hit the track with you sometime this summer Mike!
That would be a better explanation. I run mediums on the side and they work really well in the summer and ok in the colder months. I usually burn one a season depending on how much riding I get in and how much I screw around on it.

Good thing you are all in one piece. Gotta love your gear as it has saved my rear more than once.
Every year I have ridden at least one person has gone down right in front of me. I've seen low sides, high sides, taking turns to fast, even someone loop it on a wheelie.
Just remember keep the shiney side up and wear your gear. I can't say it will happen but if does you can be prepared for it like I was.
