Looking for a gunsmith

I had a bolt failure at a Scout shooting event last month and am looking for a gunsmith in Colorado Springs to see if (by some miracle) the bolt is repairable. Thanks in advance.

Any idea how this was done? Might be handy to know if I or someone else needs to destroy a 22 LR.

Mossberg 44US ... even Havlin is out of bolts and most other parts for these. I don't know what the Scout did or even if he did anything. A squib on one round is the most obvious guess but the barrel doesn't show any signs of distortion so I'm befuddled. Just hoping to find a way to continue shooting the rifle rather than turn it into a parts gun but I'm afraid I know what the answer will be ...

I don't know if you have access to the CMP forum, but a lot of guys there should have a part.

The bolt as has been mentioned is not salvageable.
More than likely a case head blow out from an over pressured round. It happens, just this last winter a gent brought in a S&W 2213 that had similar damage from what we figured was an overpressure. Blew out the sideplate.
If you send me the particulars on the rifle I will see what we can find for you.
Model, SN and any other roll markings.

This is a CMP Mossberg 44US (in the words of Mr. Scott, no bloody (a), (b), (c) or (d)). It's one of two I have that are parkerized with a post front sight and the Lyman S-100 rear sight. I see Numrich has bolt bodies (not full assemblies) for the 44US(a) -- I think the bolts are compatible but am not sure. If they are, then I have both left and right extractors, the handle, etc.; the only thing missing is the pin/piece that kept the extractor in the channel.

I also want a gunsmith to check the barrel to make sure there was no damage. I can't see any but want to be sure before I put this in another Scout's hands (assuming I can replace the bolt assembly somehow).

Unfortunately, parts for these have been very hard to come by since the CMP released a bunch of incomplete Mossberg 44USes. In some respects, I might be better off disassembling this and selling it off as parts.
