I used to have plenty of 1911's and then I got hired on the local S.O. and decided to get a Glock 22 to practice with before having my life depend on it.

Long story kinda... I had been carring a Springfield Custom with about another $1200 done to make it ultra-reliable. It would even feed empty shells from the mag at 100%.

I took the new G22 out of the box, cleaned the bore, filled a mag and fired side by side targets 50 rounds one of the 1911, and the other the Glock. Well darned if my group wasn't 1/2 the size with the Glock over my favorite 1911.

I've repeated this exercise with other 1911's and other people being the shooters many many times....all with the same results.

Within a year I only had my National Match Colt left and now owned 6 Glocks.

Over the years I got out of Law Enforcement and I do no longer own a 1911; but I kept one Glock...my best shooter a G20 in 10mm. More energy, more velocity and more ammo on board.
