Default What Did Ya Get At Tanner?

I went Sunday about 11:00 and checked out the usual stuff. I make several "laps" of the tables to avoid the crowds. I did get a Star Model Super A in 9mm Largo. $225 with 2 mags and 2 25rnd boxes of ammo. I like my C&R. Another vendor had 2 boxes of Largo and I got them too. The Star looks to be in decent shape. Can't wait to see if it shoots.

Bought 2 SAW cans. I talked myself out of an EAA Witness Compact in 10mm. Can't decide between a compact(steel frame) or a Witness P-Carry(polymer frame with rail). Any one have any suggestions?

It did look like some of the vendors were selling some guns though.

    See ya!

I went Sat, just got some mags for the pistolas and a brass "paperweight" my wife wanted. Honest!

Almost bought 1k of 9mm from 5280 but couldn't get thru to my friend who was gonna split the buy with me. Wolf 115gr fmj berdan for $125 show price.

Also looked at AK's for price comparisons. They had a Rom. w/ black syn Galil handgrip and collabsible stock for $430, pretty good shape. They also had a PTR 91 w/ coll. stock and tri rail for $1050, and the wide forend one w/ integral bipod for $1100. Managed to move on before my credit card jumped outta my wallet.

Guy that had the Ruger Mini-14 factory 20rd mags for $30 ($35?) last time wasn't there. Glad I got one at least. Two guys had INSANE mag prices. One was just a row or two inside the entrance on the right, wanted like $60 for that Ruger 20rd  but he was out anyway. They were just on sale for $25 at CTD, sold out now. Other guy was on the other side, 2nd row back from the entrance facing west. Wanted $90 for two 20rd and a 25 or 30rd for a 9mm Hi-Power, and they looked like they'd ridden in a freight car for the last year. Oh well. Just got three 15/17 rd mags for it from CDNN, each with two floorplates and a cheapo mag loader for $12.95 apiece.

Mag-man was cool. Got a mag for my wife's .380 from him a couple shows back and the fit was way off, wouldn't go more than 50-60% into the grip. Brought it back this time (w/ the gun) and he just traded it for me. Also picked up his last 10rd one. Wife's happy.

    Default Went both days

Saturday, I picked up a Magpul PRS stock and three rail covers in Coyote Brown for an AR-10, a Camillus bayonet for the M16/AR15/AR10, and a Knights manufacturing flip up rear sight for the M16/AR15. Sunday, one 20rd HK M4 mag, two taclatches for the ARs and 209 rounds of 9mm. I don't know why I'm accessorizing the ARs: I haven't shot a rifle in 2-3 years now.

Put that PRS on there and you won't know that you're shooting .223..

I went with a mission this time, drug Marpat along and am happy to say that I was able to avoid buying from Dave's again, but able to use their (for a change) cheaper price on an XD45 to get it from 5280. Matt and Gina and still the best vendors there!! The other 5 vendors that had them were WAY out of bounds on their pricing by upto about $60 before tax.

Other than that, ammo, mags and a decent christmas present for the girlfriends son, it wasn't too traumatic. What I did notice was that the accessories guys, especially the ones selling Tapco, TDI and their like are SMOKING CRACK when they put the prices on. Most of them won't even talk to you about a better price and they make this really funny face when you mention that it is XX% cheaper, even when you include shipping (if applicable) when you snag it from some one at ARFCOM

Nope, still more gun stuff than flea market stuff which is a nice change for the tanner show.

    I found a nice April 1943 M1 Garand with a re-barrel in 1953 for $650.

My friend and I went for the sole purpose of finding a Garand I could shoot in a Service Rifle match we participate in. We brought a bore scope and found a nice example within about 15 minutes. The guy ( I wish I remember his name now) was super helpful anf even talked himself down from $725. He took it apart and shoded us all the serial numbers, and the overall condition. I bought the rifle, and within five minutes I was asked if I wanted to sell it. By the end of the show, no less than seven people asked if I wanted to sell it. I think the thing that did it was the stock, it's original, but it's in really good condition.

We just placed an order for a case of CMP Lake City Surplus ammo, so I'm ready to try it out!

The folks at 5280 were very nice. They had some BHO (bolt hold open) mags for my Bulgarian AK, but I was told to bring my rifle in to their store sometime, and they'll make sure the mags work with my rifle. That's service!

I bought a couple T-shirts, a Kimber, and a GE Mini-Gun shirt that reads "we bring good things to life!"

I was eyeing those new XD compacts... Maybe that's next on the list!
