I found a nice April 1943 M1 Garand with a re-barrel in 1953 for $650.
My friend and I went for the sole purpose of finding a Garand I could shoot in a Service Rifle match we participate in. We brought a bore scope and found a nice example within about 15 minutes. The guy ( I wish I remember his name now) was super helpful anf even talked himself down from $725. He took it apart and shoded us all the serial numbers, and the overall condition. I bought the rifle, and within five minutes I was asked if I wanted to sell it. By the end of the show, no less than seven people asked if I wanted to sell it. I think the thing that did it was the stock, it's original, but it's in really good condition.
We just placed an order for a case of CMP Lake City Surplus ammo, so I'm ready to try it out!
The folks at 5280 were very nice. They had some BHO (bolt hold open) mags for my Bulgarian AK, but I was told to bring my rifle in to their store sometime, and they'll make sure the mags work with my rifle. That's service!
I bought a couple T-shirts, a Kimber, and a GE Mini-Gun shirt that reads "we bring good things to life!"
I was eyeing those new XD compacts... Maybe that's next on the list!
