I got shorted 100 rounds on a sale with glennski; what would you do?

Basically I bought a case of ammo from an active member named glennski, and the case was short over 100 rounds (112). Glen said he never counted the case himself, but his friend he got it from "swears he counted it twice". At first I thought he was willing to square it up as he said he would, but after a big run around he's no longer communicating. Without getting into the myriad of details, the basics are:

• I told him I counted it and it was short, and he said he'd drop off the 100 rounds on his way thru my area the following Wed. I said great, but I didn't want anymore steel cased (there were 250 in the case already). He said it'd be brass cased.
• I called to make a plan to meet Tues, and he said he "ran all over town, couldn't find brass, so got me 100 steel case rounds". I asked him why he'd do that when I had already made it clear I didn't want more steel; he offered to just pay me cash then, and we agreed on $30.
• In the interest of keeping it simple I suggested just mailing it instead of meeting as the point of the meeting was to give me the brass rounds, and I'm about 25 miles from I-70. He said it'd be in the mail by days end (Tues)
• I waited til that Sat., and texted asking if the $$ had been mailed yet. He said no, his wife must have forgot to drop it in the mail, but it would go out Mon. I said I'd be in his area on Monday and could pick it up; he said he was "too busy, and the mail would be easier". No problem, thanks.
• I texted Wed asking if it was mailed yet (I'm 1 day away in Carbondale), and he said it had, but also that his friend who he got the case from "swears he pre-counted it twice, and it definitely wasn't short".
• I texted Thurs when it didn't arrive in the mail, and he said he mailed the cash Mon. even though he "knows the case wasn't short" (although he admits he never himself counted it), and to stop bothering him and "never contact him again".

He claims I'm "up to something here" as he mailed *cash* to me Monday, and has a receipt from the P.O. (for a .44 cent stamp?), although he refuses to text a photo of it. I'd assume it was in fact lost in the mail if he'd provide the alleged receipt, but he's cut off communication. Glen, why don't you post a photo of that receipt here, and we'll know you're not just telling stories.

I'm apparently "up to something" cuz I didn't come meet him last Wed. like we 1st planned; doesn't seem to matter that he didn't have brass rounds he said he'd provide after I made it clear I didn't want more steel; and further I did ask to meet him Monday when I came back over. Not sure how any of that is evidence I'm "up to something", but he's convinced.

Each time he's said he mailed it Monday he adds, "even though I know the case wasn't short". I myself have counted it 3 times to be sure, as its a mix of boxes (240), stripper clips (350), a box of steel case (140), and a gallon bag of loose ones (160). I honestly want this behind me, but now its a matter of principle as not only has he jerked me around on this for two weeks, he's now calling me a liar and accusing me of being "up to something". Yes, he apparently believes this is all a big rouse on my part to squeeze him for 100 rounds of ammo.

What would you do? I never haggled on the price, and I didn't count it out in front of him trusting on his word it was all there. Then I find out he never counted it, but is calling me a liar based on what his friend allegedly claims. The Mods I first asked about this said I might as well just get over it; maybe he's right. I'm hoping input from the community might persuade Glen to man up, do what he said he'd do, honor the fact that he shorted me, and square it up.

That sucks man, if he shorted you he needs to make it good. That's why I like this forum (accountability) How can he know if he never counted it? I have never delt with the guy, maybe he will make it good after all.

Just what the hell are the Mods suppose to do about it anyway? Didn't realize it was in the job description to referee every deal that happens on this board.
You're doing about the only thing you can do at the moment, call him out, give negative feedback, get it resolved.

No offense intended, sir. Perhaps I should rephrase that better regarding the response from the Mod I contacted. I was just pointing out I had first asked a mod about this, and obviously there wasn't much on his part that could be done, and that I was now taking it to the community at large. I have seen members on other forums banned for screwing another member on a deals even smaller than this (as its about the principle not the value), but hopefully nothing like that has to happen here.

Well, from what I saw down in the mod cave, It was getting worked on. Consensus says, give it a week or two, try for some type of resolution. If that doesn't occur, send me the name of the other involved party, and I will personally ban him.

There is that point but if someone is out to deceive..... I bought a case of "sealed" ammo from a member. Look what I found when I opened it. only 40 rds short but ya get the idea.
