...and Cerberus acquired Chrysler in 2003 and that went very well for them... Not.


Kollitudes and Campbell (Freedom Group), are old GE hands. Campbell turned around GE's appliance division and has a reputation for turning scrap into Gold. Kollitude is one of the Wiz Kids that came out of GE and has a knack for raising capital and turning a profit.



Cerberus is moving into other more profitable directions in order to repay investors for a few small holes in their portfolio left by companies like Chrysler.



Kollitude tapped Campbell to oversee re-engineering and streamlining the operations, much as he had done at GE.


Don't get me wrong: These guys are not gun guys. Kollitudes is a capitalist of the first order and Campbell is reported to be one of the top manufacturing operators in the world with a reported keen ability to maximize per-unit profitability and market share.


These are the kind of people I'd hire if I were going to dominate a market segment. I would expect good things from them.
