Don't know why he felt the need to apologize. He said what about 60+% of Americans feel.
depressing in that comments made by O's supporters are emotional and not of sound reasoning. I don't care about the birth cert issue as it's never going to change the fact O is in office. What concerns me is the bashing by dems / liberals all come down to saying anyone who does not support O is a racist.

Either speak your mind, or don't. But don't recall your initial comments and issue a "written apology" that is completely contradictory to what your original thoughts were. Say it, stand the F up and hold your ground! Politicians are so stinkin quick to back track once they find out it might have "tarnished their image".
+1, there is nothing to apologize for in my opinion. It is sad to see that this kind of messaging is trying to be silenced. I wish he would stand by his statement!
