Default just like building and AR, he said

Doing a little upgrading with some parts I had gotten in a trade, I have to call BS on the "just like building an AR".

To avoid a problem, I thought I'd just keep my old harddrive with all my programs and files and install a new "fresh" hard drive when I went from Win 7 32b to 7 64b...

Yep, that hasn't worked out so well, so if anyone can give me a hand getting all my stuff on the old harddrive either accessible or transferred, I'll buy ya a cold beer...

you just have to plug it in to the accessibility port. then it should be accessible.

You left out the part about it being just like building an AR if... IF an AR was built and assembled in Taiwan by small Asian females with tiny fingers : )

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

When I did my build I installed the new OS on a fresh HDD and then just plugged the old HDD in as an extra. I could immediately access the old HDD as a separate folder from "my computer"

-- that's what I did. I had thought I could run the programs on the old one, but it doesn't like me. I can open and look at everything, just can't launch it (Quicken, Steam, Word, etc).

I must have left the extractor spring out. Now that I think about it, there are a lot of leftover parts...

My son's overseas as a contractor right now (you'd think he'd have gotten enough after 3 tours of Iraq), or I'd ask him.

As he says, "it's all about good cable management". ...ya? Then why do they have so many friggin cables?
