    What Caliber?
What are you using them for?
Yes you can use hollow point ammo at ranges.

Well, typically people will use hollow point ammo for self defense... the idea being it will expand, make a bigger hole and dump all of it's energy into the target instead of passing right through and grabbing as much meat as possible while doing so. No reason why they wouldn't be allowed at a range - they penetrate less than full metal jacket or hard cast bullets.

Hollow points will usually be more expensive and not very economical for punching holes in paper.

What gun / caliber are you shooting?

So are you going to use that ammo for....Plinking.....carrying in your gun for self defense......blowing your brains out.....using them for some weird sex act.....

Hollow points are great for personnel defense. I carry a .45 and use lead cast bullets that I make. I don't see the need for it in 45 as I do in 9mm. I wouldn't use JHP for range plinking. It costs to much.

The more important question is... can I have your brass?

Sorry, I haven't priced factory ammo in a long time. I have no idea if that's a good deal or not. My guess is that it's the old Remington hollow points. Not cutting edge bullet technology as far as self defense rounds go, but decent running ammo in my experience. The great thing about .45 auto - you just don't need to be as picky about bullet construction.

If you want a good defensive round, IMHO you want better hollow points than the Remington UMC, WWB Hollow Points at low prices.

That price has the be miss-read or miss-marked, unless maybe they are steel. $0.30 per round of .45 is just about unheard of, and I'm the guy who will leave 1.5 hours early for a 35 minute drive to swing by every wal-mart on the way. $0.34-$0.36 per round is a good price for retail packaged new manufactured .45 in brass/lead.

If they are in fact that price, buy all that they have. You won't find FMJs locally at that price.

$30 for 100 rds, and brass/lead (no steel)... buy all you can afford. Not going to see that again soon.
