    Default Onstar

What all can Onstar do on a 2000 Suburban? I would like to activate it on my wife's truck but I would like to know a little about it. Thanks

    Default nothing

double check, but my father in law's 2002 tahoe is analog cell and it is no longer suported and GM didn't have a fix. Funny GM didn't see the technology change coming.

not sure on the 2000, but basically in an accident they will alert police and emergency, contact the driver.

cell phone to the vehicle is another aspect but based on the previous post that might not work.

if you lock your keys in your vehicle or something, you can call...give them the PIN and they unlock them for you.

now they have diagnostics alerts that are sent as an email and help you keep up on maintenance and whatever is needed.

I get it on the new vehicles but never keep it. the only thing I do is pay the few bucks (usually under 5) to keep maybe 100 minutes on the vehicle for a year. that way when hunting or if something happened to my cell or if i'm in an area with out cell coverage I can call and check in or whatever.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

    My Feedback

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is my wife does not want it in her car cause of all the things she hears from our friends with custom fit tinfoil hats.

Your OnStar is a boat anchor. It will not work as it is analog. I have a friend with a 2000 Grand Prix with OnStar that he cannot get activated because it is analog.

I love my Onstar!!!!!! 2007 Chevy Silverado. My Moose hunt in 07, after killin the critter. My work cell AT&T, my personal cell Verizon couldn't get a signal to save my life. My Onstar phone let me call 10 friends, but only 2 could make it up to help me get my trophy out!!
