    Default sketchy encounter with "cop"

Well tonight around 9 p.m. my gf came to pick me up to go dinner and she parked a little down the street sitting in passenger side with her emergency lights on. (I was gonna drive her car) I came outside and a brand new Camaro (still has temps) parked ~25 feet behind her and comes out leaving his car and lights on, door wide open and started approaching her car. (like I could of just hopped in and take off lol) So I decided to run thinking he might do something. He walks up to the car and opens the driver door all the way and asks if she's okay and what she's doing. I run up to him and he says "Hi i'm ____" (forgot his name already) saying he's a cop and hes actually on his way to work. I've never seen him in my neighborhood before. (been here 10 years) So he just tells me he's checking if shes okay. So I said thanks for his concern and he pretty much just leaves back to his car. 10 mins later I see him on the road passing me driving semi recklessly. (Speeding quite a bit and changing lanes without signaling and somewhat weaving through traffic.).

Right now i'm sketchy of why he didn't park right behind her and why he did not knock on the window instead of just opening the door like that. What you guys think? She's kinda freaked out that he would just open the door wide open like that.

Call the department and ask about him. See if he actually works there.

Did he seem brand new? From the story it sounds kind of like he was a bit over zealous to help people out in the community. I can't imagine just walking up to a car and asking if everyone inside is okay just because I can.

What do you mean did he seem brand new? I just never seen him around my hood. And the fact he drives a new car makes it worse because if he drove an old car I would recognize it. I'm familiar with the cars that past my house. It is pretty odd though. It's not like she was parked in the middle of the road or on a main road. She was just parked in front of a house. Opening the door is what baffled me. Even getting pulled over by cops just don't just walk up and open your door.

That dose sound wired to me. + 1 on calling to see if he's who he says he is. Even if you didn't remember his name you could have called when you saw him on the road and given the dispatcher all the info you knew. I forget peoples names before they are even done telling me their name. When stuff like that happens to me I Wright down every thing I can.
