Default I need some Eotech help!

I have a Ruger SR556 with an Eotech 512 on it. The rifle also came with a Schonfeld 3x magnafire to be used with the Eotech. When I put the 3x in line with the Eotech everything is blurry and and I'm unable to get a clear sight picture despite changing the focus. Does anybody have any experiance with this setup?

what is blurry - the reticle picture or the overall view of your target? I have seen setups where the magnifier is too close the Eotech and blurry - like an eye relief issue. FWIW - everyone is probably assuming you have the magnifier first in line with your eye, then the Eotech ( eyeball, magnifier, eotech in that order on rifle). Is the magnfier clear without the Eotech. You may need to turn down the reticle intensity too.

Try getting a quality magnifier, remember, "You get what you pay for."
A < $100 magnifier is not going to perform to the standards of an EoTech magnifier.

Never understood turning a holographic optic into a magnified optic. To me it's added weight that can be better rectified by just changing the optics altogether. Close quarter shooting - EoTech, Longer distances - variable or fixed magnified optic. Just my .02.

Don't know about your magnifier, so I can't say much about it. I have been running the Aimpoint Magnifier behind an EOTech since they came out. You can either focus on the reticle or focus on the target, but not both at the same time. The better of the two is to have the target sharp and the reticle blurry.

I have a mild prescription for near-sightedness and Eotech reticles by themselves look blurry without my glasses, as in, way beyond the expected pixelated look. However, I was at BluCore today looking at their scope selection and one of the staff put a magnifier (not sure which kind) directly behind an Eotech and the reticle sharpened right up. So, not sure what the root cause of your blurriness issue is, but it's definitely possible to have a sharp Eotech reticle with a magnifier.

*sigh*.. With an EOTech you have to focus on the distant target then the "sight" will become clear. Let your eye relax and focus on the remote object - all of a sudden the circle will pop into focus. If you try and focus on the circle (or the dots in the circle) everything will be out of focus.

Its weird, I know but that's how it works. I'm to lazy right now to look up a cool document that explains all the medical/technicalities of it.
