Oi! Talk about little to no information on their website!

Well I guess I'll keep watching for it.

    Hello there

Well this is what a lot of you have been waiting for. The new range that we have been talking about for the last few years is called Lead Valley Range and it is located just east of Byers Co. on highway US 36. We have set the opening for February 20th or soon after. If you have not seen what we have planed you can do so by going to our web site www.leadvalleyrange.com to see the plans. When the range is completed there will be 12 privet berms, a 50 yard range, 100 yard range, 500 yard range, 7 Trap fields, 2 Five Stands and a 24 station Sporting Clays range. This is a three year project. We will open with only the 50 yard and 1 of the privet berms. This is why we will be offering the reduced rate on the memberships that are listed on the schedule.

Below you will find the dues schedule that we have been talking about. Also below you will find the club rules. When you look at the dues schedule you will notice that the price changes at regular intervals. The way that this offering is going to work is that on January 16th at 7:00pm memberships will go on sale. All registration will be done by E-mail so it will be first come first serve. We will only take E-mails that arrive on or after 7:00pm Tuesday January 16th. The date and time stamp on your E-mail will be your place on the schedule. Any E-mails received before 7:00pm start time will not be accepted. I will confirm receipt of all E-mails and let you know where you stand on the schedule and what your dues will be. At that time you will have two weeks to send your check to us or loose you place.

Also all dues will become due on anniversary date of your membership. For those of you who will take advantage of this early offering, your renewal membership will come due on the day before the range opens in 2008.

Just to inform you that we will be at the Sportsmen’s Show down at the convention center on the last weekend of this month selling memberships. So if you wait to long to join your place may change at that time.

Send your E-mail to membership@leadvalleyrange.com to register for the range on the 16th. You should mail your check to Lead Valley Range at 14120 E. Temple Dr. Y-12, Aurora Co. 80015 Attn: Cheryl. If you have

    Stay on Target

I just got an email from my stopping by thier booth at one of the gunshows. They are now accepting memberships with significant discounts for the first five years according to a schedule they will send you. I'm in the fourth or fifth group of 25 to sign up and my initiation will be $35 plus $80 for the first year's dues. The yearly dues will go up yearly until they stabilize at around $150 according to the schedule they sent me. I figured it was worth it to get in on the ground floor since I've been on waiting lists for at least two other clubs for a few years now.

Of course, no soon had I sent off my check then I got a letter from Aurora Gun Club with the news that I finally bubbled to the top of the list. So from being a member of no club, I'm now a member of two clubs. I figure I'll see which one will suit my needs and desires better after the end of the first year and let the other one go.

    Question

Is that Lead Valley Range any good. I found some bad reviews about it. How far away from Denver they are located?

Sounds like a direct copy of the Ben Lomond range, to compete with it and draw members away. I love the BLGC range, and it's far more convenient to me in Parker than the Byers range would be. But the Byers range would be easier for Denver folks to just drive straight out I-70 to get to.

I have to go out that way on business once in awhile, I wonder if they'll offer day or hourly rates? Probably not, I don't imagine it'll be a manned range.

As a member since July 2008 I think it is very much worth it. The membership dues are low and the owners are great people and easy to deal with. Several private berms are complete, the 50 and 100 yd ranges are complete, 5 station trap is open and 500 yd range is being worked on. Have had 2 Pumpkin shoots(now annual event) and a Top Gun(3 gun) competition. As membership grows plans for more events are planned. One other benefit is that my wife likes it(and therefore participates more) and can bring guests as well.

    Everyone should check it out.
