    Default Difficult to understand

OK, maybe I am a little (actually very) dense but I cannot understand this message on my wife's Kindle. She had it plugged into the USB port of the desk top computer via the wire furnished with the Kindle. Here is picture of the message on it's screen:

.How can it continue to charge if you disconnect/eject the from our computer?? What the hell am I missing here?

It means ejectect using the 'safely remove hardware' option in the system tray (near the clock). It just doesn't have the ability to access files while the PC has control of its storage. You leave the wire plugged in.

This is referring to the "safely eject hardware" feature of you computer. It is used to un-mount hard drives and camera type device without corrupting them. you shouldn't just unplug them, you should "eject" then first them unplug them.

    Hope this helps...

No they mean disconnect the storage device (on the Kindle), but the USB is still connected and the electrical current will still flow, and the device will still be charging, just not visible and accessible to the PC...

What was said above about "ejecting" it from Windows. Many of these devices have this: when plugged into USB they 'sense' it and default to operating in a different mode, as if it were an attached USB storage device used for transferring files, etc. The native Kindle features and abilities are 'turned off' until you tell the host OS that you don't want to use this as an attached storage device. Most Android-based smartphones do the same thing.

OK (I guess). Would sure make it easier and much more simple for us "round eyes" if it were worded in an easier to understand fashion especially for us more, much more, mature folks.
Thanks for helping me understand their ambiguous (to me) instructions.
Seems like nothing is simple anymore (except me)
