Starting to clean my own ammo, and was wondering how often I need to switch out the walnut mix I am using. Can I use the same stuff for a few uses or do I need to change it out everytime?

Run it until it takes twice as much time to get the brass clean. I have run the same media 5-6x now. Drop some metal (noxon, flits, cheap stuff)polish in there for a higher luster. Toss in a torn dryer sheet to reduce dust too.
YMMV

You will get quite a few uses out of it. Obviously it will be dictated by how dirty the brass is to start with, how clean you want it to be and how long you tumble it, along with other factors.
You will know after while when its time to change. It will get dirty and it will take A LOT longer to tumble to your liking.
I always cut up used drier sheets into quarters and throw that in ever time I tumble, it will help remove a ton of crap. I quarter 3 sheets each time I tumble.

always seems to last longer too when removing old primers before polishing. I run corn or walnut until it looks a dirty gray in color.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.
