I think that you need to read your constitution again (or for the first time). Amending the constitution in the way laid out in Article V is in keeping with the way our founding fathers intended. Also, the constitution doesn't endorse slavery, nor does it say that women can't vote. Furthermore, there is a reason that in the original text senators were elected by the state governments. Otherwise, what's the purpose of having a bicameral legislature if they both represent the people? The House is supposed to represent the people, the Senate is supposed to represent the states. The 17th Amendment needs to be repealed, IMO.
