The Talisker Storm is not for me...too smokey and peaty for me.

I have a bottle as well. I bought it hoping to find something I like even more than the seemingly ubiquitous 12yr Balvenie Double Wood, but Dalmore 12 isn't quite there for me... It's good for sure, but just good.

If you really want to find a whiskey to knock your socks off, go down to TX and get a bottle of the Balcones TX Single Malt.... it's outstanding... might as well get a bottle of their Baby Blue while you're there too.

Curious as to if anyone has ever recommended or tried Law's?
My husband seems to like it.

If I had a distillery I'd make the smokiest, most peaty Scotch possible, age it nineteen years, and call it the Joan D'arc.

Thanks, I've been sitting on that a while and this thread connected all my loose thoughts into something worth while.

Not sure of coffee fits in here, but...

A friend of mine recently returned from a vacation in Vietnam. He brought back a bag a coffee beans for me. Made a few cups this morning. Wow. It has been since the mid 90s since I was in Vietnam and Cambodia. The smell and flavor brought back a bunch of good memories.

So good. Absolutely incredible. And I thought Ethiopian coffee was good. One of the very few times I would consider using bottled water instead of tap water.
You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning
and I'm crazy about my tea at night

I think Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is some of the best coffee so now I'm very curious as to what you've got there Hoser.

A Robusta rather than an Arabica, interesting.

If you like the East Africans, I can strongly recommend Huckleberry's Phantom Limb blend.

Sounds like you read it, but WSJ had a blurb about Vietnamese coffee.. last week? Can't find right now.
    9mm - because they don't make a 9.1mm
