For those of you that have posted photos of Colorado distilled whiskeys (especially bourbons) ... please post a detailed review.

Would love to try some local spirit, but expect that most of it is expensive and I don't want to fly blind.

I'm not an aficionado or anything, so a detailed review isn't going to be that detailed........... but the one I recently tried from Boathouse Distillery was very decent. Smooth, good taste, price was ~30 bucks.....I'd buy it again without hesitation for what that's worth. They had one more bottle up here at Saturdays if you want me to grab it for you.

Ok, I'm interested. The fact that it is not Stranahan's or Tin Cup is a plus. Salida doesn't have a lake. Where is the boat house?

IDK maybe rafts or something lol.... I was looking for something different and it caught my eye, labeled small batch bottle # out of 300 - they had two bottles on the shelf at Saturdays, I grabbed one of them. Guessing the other one is still there it was when i stopped in for a PBR earlier

I have no problems grabbing the other bottle for anyone as long as they are legal/show id if look young.......and reimburse me for teh cost LOL. But meeting up could be an issue........can you ship booze? I know you can order some stuff online so.

Look up the differences between whiskey and bourbon. It makes the quality difference a little more clear.

    The primer.

Fireside Whiskey is my "hands down" favorite. Both liquor stores, up here, carry it based on my bitching.
Never liked Stranahan's (sold to a NY company) and Tin Cup (same brewer/owner as Stranahan's) does nothing for me.
I haven't tried Black Canyon, out of Longmont, but haven't heard good reviews.
Breckenridge whiskey intrigues me but haven't tried it yet.
Peach Street Distillers Colorado Straight Whiskey (my kind of whiskey) also sounds interesting.
Leopold. No clue but want to try it.
Colorado Gold. Never tried this corn whiskey, stored in whiskey barrels (doesn't count), but ya never know.
303, good vodka but not so much good whiskey.
There is a CO whiskey, in green wine bottle, that tastes like 99% isopropyl alcohol. Found it once but no one has it now. AVOID!

    FYI:

There is a whiskey Co in Wy that is, shall we say, inconsistent. The east side and west side or the warehouses don't see the same temps.
